Hayley Brown is both a professional painter, decorative artist and teacher of Indian Miniature painting working mainly in Egg Tempera, opaque Watercolours and in Oil. She designs and creates works of art for private commissions, decorative furniture and hand decorated instruments. Her popular and sell out art classes have been held at venues such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Charleston in Sussex and in private homes across London, Sussex and in Kent. Her students travel from as far as Scotland and Wales as well as always having a local following.
Her work captures the beauty and essence of Asian Temple Wall Art and Indian Miniature Paintings from 200 BC – 1800 AD. Influences include ancient Buddhist and Hindu Art, Mughal Miniatures, and the decorated palaces and Havellis of India. She has studied the historical art of Miniature Painting under Mr Ram Singh and Mr Ramu Ramdev of the Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh Gallery, City Palace, Jaipur, Rajashtan, India. Hayley also enjoys working on commissions in the style of famous artists such as the Pre-Raphaelites, Modigliani, Gauguin, Klimt and Van Gogh. Her latest projects include oil paintings of her visits to National Trust Homes and Gardens and secret views of architectural features and Sussex Downs hidden gems.
She also creates small personalised ceramic gifts, wedding favours, Indian Wedding Portraits, dinner party name cards and table seating plan artworks and is commissioned to paint Indian Miniature Style portraits of people's Homes & Gardens.
